Great job to all the coders that participated in the Mission to Mars Coding Challenge. We held a drawing on May 15th and awarded 5 prizes. Congratulations!
We have resumed our full regular class schedule. One additional in-person class has been added on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM. There are two virtual class options, Tuesday 5:15 PM and Wednesday at 5:15 PM as well as virtual 1-on-1 private lessons. More info and registration is here.
We do anticipate our classes filling up in the next couple of months. We encourage our returning students to re-register as soon as possible to ensure your preferred class time.
Pacific Time Zone (PT)
NOTE: Some class times may be full and running a waiting list. Call for the most up-to-date availability.
Masks remain optional at Galaxy Kids Code Club. Please note that the California Department of Public Health still strongly recommends masks in schools and child care settings. We will continue to provide masks for those that choose to wear them in class. We ask you to continue to watch for symptoms and keep your coder home if they are ill.
Jr. Code Club (ages 5-7)
The next session of Jr Code Club is just around the corner! This class is full of fun activities geared towards helping kids explore their creativity and learn age-appropriate computer programming concepts. Young coders will “learn through play” using robots, iPad apps, and unplugged (no screens) activities. Classes are 45 minutes long.
We have two 6-week sessions beginning in late August, Wednesdays at 1:30pm or Thursdays at 3:00pm. Space is limited. Sign up here!
Upcoming Camps & Workshops
The theme for the next coding challenge is Lucky Charms (yes like the cereal!). This is your coders chance to practice what they’ve learned by creating a custom project of their own. Entry deadline is April 8th. The prize raffle will take place on April 15, 5:15 PM (right before Game Night begins).
Open Instructor Positions
We are in search of part-time instructors to assist with our introductory level classes. Coding experience is a plus but not strictly required – we provide training and curriculum. Must have experience working with children ages 3-10 and be passionate about learning and teaching technology. Great position for a high school or college student, retired teacher, or parent.
